Website content (news, events, media, departments, chanda rates) is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) and displayed publicly when published.
If you contact us by email, we process the content of your message and your email address to respond.
The mobile app may store a preferred language on your device and register a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token so we can send optional announcements. Tokens are stored in Firestore with platform and language metadata.
The Chanda calculator runs on your device; income amounts you type are not uploaded to our servers.
To operate the public website and app, inform members and visitors about MKA activities, answer enquiries, and (if you allow notifications) send relevant announcements.
Legal bases under Swiss data protection law include our legitimate interest in operating organisational communications and, where required, your consent (for example for push notifications).
We use Google Firebase (including Firestore and Cloud Messaging) and hosting providers for the website. Data may be processed in the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or other regions supported by those services, under their contractual safeguards.
Published content remains available until removed by administrators. Contact emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. FCM tokens are updated when the app refreshes them and may be deleted when no longer needed.
Under applicable Swiss law you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and object to certain processing, subject to legal limits.
To exercise these rights, email info@khuddam.ch. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
For polls and event RSVPs, we process your selections and a pseudonymous Firebase account identifier to reduce duplicate responses from the same browser, device, or account and to allow permitted changes. A reinstall, new browser, or different device may create another anonymous identity. A poll may optionally ask for a display name, unverified email address, Jamaat, or member group; these details are used only to administer participation.
Only aggregate counts are public. Names, email addresses, Jamaat and member group are visible only to authorised administrators and are never included in public results. A remembered profile is stored locally on your device only after you submit it.
Poll responses are retained only as long as needed for the poll and related event administration, then deleted or anonymised according to MKA policy. Request access or deletion at info@khuddam.ch.
The services are intended for MKA members and the public. Guardians should supervise use by minors where appropriate.
We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change. The “last updated” date above will be revised accordingly.
